In a major development, the Jammu and Kashmir police have recovered an army soldier who had gone missing and was believed to have been abducted by terrorists from Kulgam where he was on leave to celebrate Eid with his family.

Giving this information the Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar told mediapersons in Srinagar that Sepoy Jawed Ahmed Wani was being examined by doctors and then he will be subjected to joint interrogation.

Police said the details of the rescue operation will be shared shortly.

Jawed Ahmed Wani had gone missing as his car with some blood stains was found abandoned close to an orchard a few days after the Eid.

His family said he had gone to market to do grocery shopping and was abducted.

His mother appealed to his abductors for his release.

Police had been saying that they are working on definite clues to Wani’s abductors.

However, outfit The resistance Force (TRF) had claimed responsibility for Wani’s abduction and 'killing.'
