The Army’s Northern Commander, Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, on Tuesday met Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta in Leh to review the prevailing security situation in the Union territory, officials said.
The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army’s Northern Command was accompanied by Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, the General Officer Commanding of the Leh-based 14 Corps, during the meeting.
During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor appreciated the Indian Army’s role in safeguarding the borders and ensuring the safety and security of the people of Ladakh. He lauded the forces for their continued vigilance and professionalism in the strategically sensitive region.

Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, in turn, reaffirmed the Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the security and territorial integrity of the Union territory. The meeting underscored the close coordination between the civil administration and the armed forces to address security challenges in Ladakh.
