The Parliament today passed the Farm Laws Repeal Bill 2021, which has led to the repeal of the three controversial farm laws. These laws had put a section of farmers across the country on a collision course with the Narendra Modi government. The bill was first passed In the Lok Sabha on the first day of the Winter session. As soon as the bill was tabled the Opposition demanded a discussion on it.

However, Union minister for Parliamentary Affairs said there was already enough discussion on the bills when these were passed. Today, the entire Opposition was demanding to repeal of the laws. But when we went to repeal the laws the Opposition created ruckus, I ask the Opposition what is their intention?" Joshi said.

Speaker Om Birla had requested Opposition MPs to bring the House to allow any discussion before the Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021

After the passing of the bill, Birla adjourned the House.

In the afternoon the bill was also passed in the Rajya Sabha.

In Lok Sabha, there was heavy sloganeering by the opposition as its members wanted a debate on the issue.
