The India AI Impact Summit 2026, the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, has brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics and civil society representatives from across the world to deliberate on building a responsible, inclusive and human-centric AI ecosystem.
Addressing the summit, PM Modi outlined India’s MANAV Vision for AI — Moral and Ethical Systems, Accountable Governance, National Sovereignty, Accessible and Inclusive, and Valid and Legitimate. Explaining the framework, he said AI must be grounded in ethical guidelines, governed by transparent and accountable systems, respect national data sovereignty, remain accessible to all rather than becoming a monopoly, and operate within lawful and verifiable boundaries.
The Prime Minister asserted that India’s MANAV Vision would serve as a vital link for humanity’s welfare in the AI-driven world of the 21st century.
Later, addressing the Leaders’ Plenary Session, PM Modi said the AI Impact Summit would play a key role in shaping a human-centric and sensitive global AI ecosystem, with the priorities of the Global South at the centre of governance.
