The believers and religious leaders of Sufism will have to come forward to check the growing incidents of hate speech. This was the unanimous demand of speakers at the Inter-Religious Peace Conference held here.
 
The conference was jointly organized by World Sufi Manch, All India Ulema and Mashaikh Board (AIUMB), and Baba Tajuddin Trust, Nagpur on the occasion of Urs (anniversary) of famous Sufi mystic Baba Tajuddin.
 
Spiritual leaders of all religions, Sufi saints, Sajjadanshin of Khanqahs, academicians from leading universities, and social workers attended the conference.
 
Union Minister for surface transport Nitin Gadkari, who is also an MP from Nagpur, also attended the two-day conference.

The speakers talked of the importance of Sufism, the need for inter-religious dialogue, and the issue of division and breach of peace between religions due to hate speech.
 
Speakers said the real purpose of the event was to end the growing atmosphere of hatred and communal disharmony that was causing harm to the image of India as a land of many faiths and cultures.
 
Almost all the speakers said in unison that India has been the land of sages belonging to all the religions of the world including Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, Sufis, and saints. The core of Indian culture and spiritual ecosystem is unity in diversity.

The conference urged people to imbibe mutual understanding, exercise patience, and adopt foster brotherhood and love.
 
The key speakers included Syed Salman Chishti, Syed Shamimuddin Ahmed Munemi, Sufi scholar, Goswami Sushil Maharaj Jain Muni. Suveer Saran, motivational speaker, Dr. Khwaja Mohd. Ikramuddin, JNU, Sadguru Brahmesananda Acharya Swami, Sadguru Brahmesananda Acharya Swami, Najeeb Jung, former Lt Governor of Delhi), BJP leader Shazia Ilmi, etc.

Syed Salman Chishti, Gaddinashin of Ajmer Sharif dargah said that hate speech is a serious issue that needs to be urgently addressed and corrected through inter-religious seminars.
