C P Radhakrishnan on Saturday stressed the importance of women’s leadership and said the true value of education lies in using it for social progress, innovation and ethical conduct.
Addressing the 35th convocation of University of Rajasthan in Jaipur, he encouraged graduates to become job creators, innovators and nation-builders in line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
Highlighting women’s empowerment, Radhakrishnan said he was proud of the achievements of women graduates and noted that a majority of gold medal winners in recent years have been women.
“A truly developed nation cannot exist without equal opportunity, dignity and leadership roles for its women,” he said, adding that their success reflects significant progress and inspires future generations.
The Vice President urged students to think critically, act ethically and continue learning throughout life. He advised them to stay resilient, learn from setbacks and remain humble.
“Excellence without empathy and achievement without humility are incomplete,” he said.

He also called on graduates to serve society, respect diversity, practise compassion and work for the greater good. He advised students to stay away from drugs and use social media responsibly.
