As the floods ravaged the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, ripping through villages and farms and displacing many people, numerous heartwarming instances of human beings helping each other, regardless of their caste or religion, have come to light.

One such incident was reported from the town of Kannad in Maharashtra's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) district, where the courage shown by a few Muslim youths has won the hearts of everyone.

The Langoti Mahadev temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is located in a field on the far bank of the Shivna river, which flows through the Shivnagar area of Kannad town.

The temple priest, Dilip Giri, lives there with the families of his two siblings. Due to the heavy rains over the past few days, the river suddenly flooded, and the temple premises were marooned.

A total of six people, including Priest Giri, were trapped. The families spent the entire night in fear of being swept away by the swelling river. In the morning, they shouted for help.

Their cries for help reached the ears of a group of young men—Faizal Hasan Pathan, Salman Pathan, Azhar Pathan, Faiyaz Pathan, Sonu Lal Pathan, Ayyaz Hasan Pathan, and Anis Salim Pathan. They were joined by their friend Vilas Jadhav and rushed to the help of the priest and his family without caring for their safety.

These youths battled strong currents and reached the temple. Wading through waist-deep water, they lifted Priest Giri onto their backs and, one by one, brought his entire family to a safe location.

Thanks to the bravery and humanitarian spirit of these Muslim youths, the priest and his family were rescued.
