Two naval ships from Pakistan have arrived in Colombo to participate in a bilateral exercise with the Sri Lanka Navy, officials said on Monday.
According to Navy spokesperson Commander Buddika Sampath, the Pakistani vessels PNS Taimur and PNS Aslat reached Colombo port on Sunday and will remain in the island nation until April 26.
He said the ships are on a goodwill visit and will participate in the bilateral naval exercise titled Lion Star V alongside the Sri Lankan Navy.
Sampath added that Sri Lanka would finalise the detailed programme depending on the training opportunities and activities offered by the visiting Pakistani ships.

He described the visit as an excellent exposure opportunity for young naval officers.
