Grammy-winning global icon Mariah Carey delivered a spellbinding performance at the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games at Milan’s iconic San Siro Stadium, as reported by a news agency.
Stepping onto the stage in a shimmering all-white gown complemented by a dramatic feather boa, Carey instantly held the crowd’s attention. She opened her set with the beloved Italian classic “Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu)” by Domenico Modugno, drawing loud applause from the packed stadium.

The performance then transitioned into her 2025 track “Nothing Is Impossible,” where Carey’s signature high notes filled the arena as dancers moved around a striking spiral-shaped stage, adding visual flair to the musical spectacle.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Carey shared her excitement and nerves about performing in Italian. “I can’t believe it, I have to sing in Italian,” she said during an appearance on The Big Tigger Morning Show last month, according to a news agency.
Carey’s act stood out as one of the major musical highlights of the opening ceremony, which also featured appearances by international stars and cultural segments celebrating Italy’s rich heritage.
Her Olympic appearance comes on the heels of another milestone, having been honoured as MusiCares’ Person of the Year on January 31 for her lasting contributions to music and philanthropy, a news agency reported.
