Motorola on Thursday unveiled the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion, introducing a feature-packed smartphone aimed at the mid-premium segment with a strong focus on camera innovation, design and AI-powered performance.
The device debuts with what the company describes as the world’s first 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 sensor paired with Moto AI technology. The camera system is designed to deliver improved low-light photography, enhanced dynamic range and sharper images in motion. It also supports 4K video recording across lenses and colour accuracy validated by Pantone.
Alongside the primary sensor, the smartphone includes a 13MP ultra-wide and macro vision camera with a 120-degree field of view and a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Several AI-driven photography tools such as adaptive stabilisation, portrait mode options and night photography enhancements are integrated to help users capture clearer images and videos.
In terms of design, the Edge 70 Fusion introduces a linen-inspired fabric finish available in Pantone-curated shades including Blue Surf, Country Air and Silhouette. Despite packing high-end hardware, the phone maintains a slim 7.99mm profile and weighs around 193 grams, offering an ergonomic grip with curved edges.
The smartphone features a 6.78-inch 1.5K quad-curved AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports HDR10+, a wide colour gamut and high brightness levels for improved outdoor visibility. Dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support are included to enhance multimedia experiences.
Powering the device is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, designed to handle multitasking, gaming and AI-driven functions efficiently. The phone offers configurations of up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, along with support for multiple 5G bands and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
One of the standout features is its 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is engineered to provide extended usage for streaming, gaming and everyday tasks. The battery is supported by 68W fast charging, enabling quick power top-ups.
Motorola has also integrated Moto AI 2.0, bringing several smart features including contextual suggestions, AI image tools, and transcription support and productivity utilities. The smartphone runs on Hello UI based on Android 16 and will receive three operating system upgrades along with five years of security updates.
The device is built with durability in mind, featuring IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance along with military-grade protection standards designed to withstand extreme environmental conditions.
According to Motorola India Managing Director T.M. Narasimhan, the new smartphone reflects the company’s focus on combining design, performance and intelligent software to deliver a premium user experience.
The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion will be available in three variants — 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB. The smartphone will be offered through Flipkart, Motorola’s official website and retail outlets.
