Xiaomi has expanded its budget smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi A7 4G series, which is now officially available for purchase. The series includes the Redmi A7 4G and the Redmi A7 Pro 4G, both positioned as entry-level devices offering a mix of large displays, long battery life, and modern software support.
Both smartphones feature high-refresh-rate 120Hz HD+ displays and are powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset, paired with LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded significantly via microSD card support of up to 2TB. While both models share core hardware, the Pro variant comes with a larger screen, higher brightness levels, and better memory configuration.
On the software front, the Pro model runs on the newer Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and is promised extended software support, while the standard version ships with Android 15-based HyperOS 2 and comparatively shorter update cycles.
In terms of cameras, both devices carry a 13-megapixel rear sensor along with an 8-megapixel front camera. They also include essential connectivity features such as 4G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Security is handled via a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Battery capacity differs across the lineup, with the Pro model housing a larger 6,300mAh unit, while the standard variant includes a 5,200mAh battery. Both support 15W wired charging and reverse charging capabilities.
The Redmi A7 4G series is available through Xiaomi’s official website, e-commerce platforms, and offline retail stores across India, with pricing starting in the budget segment to target mass-market users.
