Samsung is reportedly gearing up for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, expected to be held in the second half of this year, where it is likely to unveil its upcoming foldable smartphone lineup. According to recent industry leaks, the event could take place in London on July 22, although the company has not officially confirmed the date yet.
At the centre of attention will be the next-generation foldables, expected to be launched as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Alongside these devices, Samsung is also tipped to introduce a new book-style foldable variant, possibly named the Galaxy Z Fold 8 “Wide,” featuring a broader display and a tablet-like experience when unfolded.
The “Fold Wide” is being seen as Samsung’s attempt to further expand its dominance in the foldable segment, especially as competition intensifies with Apple reportedly preparing its own foldable device.
In addition to smartphones, Samsung may also step into a new product category with the launch of its first smart glasses, reportedly called Galaxy Glasses. Developed in collaboration with eyewear brand Gentle Monster, the device is expected to run on Android XR, co-developed with Google, and integrate the Gemini AI assistant.
Unlike traditional smart wearables, the Galaxy Glasses are said to function without an inbuilt display. Instead, they may rely on speakers, microphones, and a camera to offer an AI-powered, voice-driven experience. The product is expected to debut in the third quarter of the year, positioning Samsung against competitors such as Meta and Xiaomi in the emerging smart glasses market.
