Maulana Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, General Secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, has asked Muslims to immediately complete the registration of their endowment details on the UMEED portal, so as to ensure the protection of these valuable religious and communal assets.

Maulana Mujaddidi said that as everyone knows, the most important and sensitive issue facing Indian Muslims is the protection of endowments and their properties, be these mosques, madrasas, khanqahs, cemeteries, dargahs or imambars.

Parliament has recently passed the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, under which all registered endowments listed in Section 43 have been recognized. Under its Section 3B, it has been made mandatory to upload the current details and data of these endowments on the UMEED portal. It stands for Unified Minority Mapping and Empowerment for Education, Employment, and Development.

He said the registration process must be completed before December 5, 2025.

Although the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has challenged this law in the Supreme Court and the court has granted interim relief on some provisions, the requirement to upload details under Section 3B remains. Therefore, time is of the essence, and it is imperative to immediately list all the already registered endowments under all the State Endowment Boards on the portal.

Maulana Mujaddidi said that if this process is not completed within the stipulated time, the legal status of the “registered waqf” of mosques, cemeteries and other waqf properties may be at risk.

“I appeal to all sections of the community, including scholars, imams, guardians, organizational and social workers, to establish help desks in their areas,  so that this process can be facilitated, “ he said in a release.

Maulana Mujaddidi  said that the board has formed committees at the state level to protect endowments, which are providing training and guidance on uploading. However, this support needs to be extended to the district, tehsil and block levels.

Maulana warned that in case of delay, the trustees may have to request a respite from the Endowment Tribunal and may face legal complications and fines.

He said that once the details of a waqf are uploaded, its record should be preserved.

If anyone faces technical difficulties while uploading,  a written report should be given to the concerned Waqf Board so that appropriate action can be taken.

He said that this was not just a legal process but a religious and national responsibility. Let us all together complete the registration process on the UMEED portal soon to protect our mosques, madrasas, cemeteries and dargahs, so that this valuable asset of Waqf can be preserved for future generations.
