The killing of two teachers of minority community in Srinagar Thursday morning has evoked anger and strong reaction from the political parties, leaders and the common man against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

As the pictures of the grieving families of the slain teachers, Satinder Kour and Deepak Chand Mehta, emerged on the internet and became viral, impromptu protests were held in Jammu demanding a strict action Pakistan including surgical strikes on the lines of the one carried out in Balakot earlier.

Satinder Kour’s inconsolable mother was besides herself with grief. The family lived in uptown Srinagar's Aloochi Bagh. Satinder Kour was working in the government for 20 years and had been posted as Principal of the Government Boys Higher secondary school of Sangam Idgah in Srinagar downtown, a few years ago.

She kept asking her daughter’s killer, “What was her (Satinder Kour’s) fault?” as neighbours, friends and relatives flocked to her home.

Srinagar’s Mayor, Junaid Azim Mattu was the first official to visit the bereaved family.

Deepak’s family lives in Jammu and he had been appointed as a government teacher under a special scheme of Prime Minister’s office that was aimed at encouraging the Hindus to return to their homes in Kashmir three years ago.

The two were picked from the largely Muslim teachers who were lined up for identification by the terrorists and shot in school premises.

In Jammu, Deepak’s father said, “Kashmir is no place for us; we are going there to get killed.” Deepak, he said has a little daughter.

Deepak's wife said her daughter didn't want to accompany her father to Kashmir when he visited home last. "My husband has no enemity with anyone," she cried. Jamu-based journalist Ashish Kohli shared the video of his grieving family on Twitter:

Shiv Sena's Jammu and Kashmir unit president Manish Sahni has said that nn-Muslims are being selectively targeted while the government is working to resettle Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley.

“Terrorists are shocked by the Indian Army's Operation All Out and because of this selected people are being targeted. He said, Pakistan was behind these killings. ”We appeal to PM Modi to continue the air strikes on Pakistan to teach them a lesson,” he said.

Bharatiya Janata Party Jammu and Kashmir President Ravinder Raina said that the cowardly Pakistani terrorists have killed the Kashmir Valley. These cowardly Pakistanis will have to pay a heavy price for this heinous crime, while former Congress minister Raman Bhalla has questioned the government.

He said that the genocide that has taken place in Kashmir for two consecutive days has completely failed the government, because first the demolition of the temple in Kashmir and then the continuous attack on Kashmiri Pandits shows that the government is not protecting the people. is getting. He reiterated that the government has completely failed to provide security to the people.
