The Border Roads Organisation's Project Brahmank has provided relief to flood-affected families in Assam, an official statement said on Saturday.

A team led by Project Brahmank chief engineer Pankaj Goyal pooled in funds and essential supplies, including food items, clothes, footwear and blankets.

The relief consignment was assembled at Project Brahmank headquarters (chief engineer) at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh and dispatched to Assam's Dibrugarh on August 4.

The materials were handed over to the Rotary Club of Dibrugarh for distribution among affected families, the statement said.

The devastating floods have inundated vast swathes of land, causing widespread damage to lives, livelihoods and public infrastructure.

Around 1.55 lakh people remained affected in 13 districts, and 98 people have lost their lives in this year's deluge in Assam.
