Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday urged Delhiites to light "Aashirwad Ka Diya" (earthen lamp of blessing) on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday on September 17 to pray for his good health, long life and continued strength.
The BJP and the Delhi government will organise various programmes as part of "Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan" from September 17 to October 17. The chief minister earlier announced the launch of various projects worth Rs 13,800 crore during the month-long campaign.
In a video posted on her X handle, the chief minister called upon the people of Delhi to send their blessings to PM Modi on his birthday.

"I appeal to every family to light 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' on September 17 between 6 pm and 7 pm and offer prayers for his good health, long life and continued strength in the service of Maa Bharati," she said.

In another post, the chief minister said that Delhi, guided by the spirit of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas, will mark this month with initiatives of service, good governance and the welfare of the poor to take forward the resolve of 'Viksit Bharat' through 'Viksit Delhi'.
