Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday said mechanised road sweepers, anti-smog guns and water sprinklers will be deployed across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Greater Noida following a meeting chaired by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.
Sirsa said potholes across NCR must be identified and repaired within 72 hours, while construction sites must ensure proper fencing and dust control. The MCD has been cleared to buy 100 new sweepers, and the PWD will install tube wells, water pipelines and integrated sprinkler systems.
The government will also focus on mass tree plantation and adopt the Centre’s ‘Gaurav Path’ model for better road planning and stormwater drainage. Steps to boost last-mile metro connectivity through e-autos were also discussed.
