President Droupadi Murmu on Friday described Vrindavan as more than just a physical location, calling it a vibrant embodiment of divine presence where the legacy of Lord Krishna can be felt in every corner.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration of the Nand Kishor Somani Oncology Block at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram in Mathura, the President said the sacred town has inspired spiritual awakening among saints and devotees for generations. She noted that Vrindavan continues to spread the enduring values of love, compassion, and devotion across India and beyond.

Murmu, currently on a three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, praised the establishment of a healthcare facility focused on public welfare in such a spiritually significant place, calling it a commendable initiative.

Highlighting the legacy of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and his disciple Swami Vivekananda, she said their teachings laid the foundation for blending spirituality with service to humanity. According to her, the Mission exemplifies the idea that devotion must translate into service, and that compassion and love are among the highest paths to realizing God.

She also commended the monks of the organisation for living by the principle that serving people is equivalent to serving the divine, turning this belief into meaningful action.

Referring to the Mission’s 118-year journey, the President said its work reflects how genuine spirituality is expressed through selfless service and empathy. She appreciated the Sevashram Charitable Hospital for its commitment to ensuring that no patient is denied treatment due to financial constraints.
