Russia has voiced deep concern over the continuing military confrontation in the Persian Gulf, urging an immediate halt to hostilities and describing the situation as unprovoked aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran.
In a statement shared on X, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned of escalating tensions and increasing damage to vital infrastructure across Iran and neighbouring Arab nations. It stressed that the situation poses serious risks to regional stability.
Calling for a ceasefire, Moscow said an immediate end to military actions is essential, adding that halting operations by Washington and Tel Aviv would be a crucial first step toward de-escalation.
Russia also expressed willingness to work with countries such as China and Turkiye, along with other partners, to pursue a diplomatic resolution aimed at long-term peace and stability in the region.
The ministry reiterated its support for fostering peaceful relations between Arab nations and Iran, highlighting the importance of dialogue and mutual security arrangements. It also referred to proposals by Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, noting that they align with Russia’s vision of a balanced regional security framework.
Moscow further underlined the need for an inclusive regional dialogue focused on confidence-building measures, transparency in nuclear energy, and collective security guarantees. It reaffirmed its long-standing proposal for a cooperative security structure in the Gulf region and its readiness to assist in diplomatic efforts.
