Farooq Abdullah on Friday cautioned that the ongoing conflict involving Iran and a US-Israel coalition could have far-reaching effects on the global economy, urging that hostilities end at the earliest.
Speaking to reporters after Friday prayers at the Hazratbal Shrine, he said the war would not only impact India’s economy but also have serious consequences worldwide.
Emphasising the human cost of the conflict, Abdullah expressed concern over the loss of innocent lives and said prayers were being offered for relief and stability in the Muslim world.

Responding to a query on the situation, he added that a higher authority beyond Donald Trump would eventually play a role in resolving tensions in the Middle East.
