Noida/Lucknow
Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said the newly inaugurated Noida International Airport would act as a “launchpad” for Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth, boosting investment, trade and employment.
Addressing a gathering at the inauguration ceremony attended by Narendra Modi, the chief minister said the airport would give the state a new global identity and place it firmly on the international aviation map.
He said the project reflects India’s rapid infrastructure growth and credited the Centre’s leadership for maintaining stable fuel prices and uninterrupted supply despite global volatility.
Highlighting expansion plans, Adityanath said the airport, currently operational with one runway, will soon have a second and could eventually expand to five runways, positioning it as a major global aviation hub.
Taking a swipe at previous governments, he alleged that Uttar Pradesh had suffered from “policy paralysis” earlier but has emerged as a “breakthrough state” under the current dispensation.
The chief minister said the airport will be a key driver of employment and investment, supported by strong connectivity via major infrastructure corridors such as the Yamuna Expressway and upcoming expressways and rail networks.
He also outlined plans for industrial growth around the airport, including semiconductor units, data centres, logistics hubs, and a proposed fintech city, aimed at creating a robust economic ecosystem.
