Two men were injured after being shot at in Jharkhand’s Palamu district on Thursday, allegedly due to a long-standing personal rivalry, police officials said.

The firing incident took place in the Kandu Mohalla area under the Town police station limits. The victims have been identified as Ajit Kumar Gupta (52) and Navin Prasad (45).

Both were rushed to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Police said Gupta’s condition is stable and he is out of danger, while Prasad sustained serious injuries and is being referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi for advanced medical care.

Town police station in-charge Jyoti Lal Rajwar confirmed the incident and said medical assistance was immediately arranged.
