Actor Mithila Palkar is set to reunite with Imran Khan on screen in Vir Das’s directorial venture Happy Patel, marking their first collaboration in a decade.
The film has generated buzz for Imran Khan’s acting comeback after a long break and for reuniting the two actors, who previously worked together in the 2015 film Katti Batti.
In an interview Mithila called the reunion a “full circle” moment. She said, “He has come a full circle, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. It was wonderful to welcome him back on set. The last time we shared a set was ‘Katti Batti’, which was my first film and his last before this comeback. It’s amazing to be part of that journey for him. He’s still the warm and lovely person I met 10 years ago. Nothing has changed. It’s lovely to see him back in films.”
Mithila also shared her off-screen camaraderie with the Delhi Belly actor, adding, “He’s such a kind person and immediately makes you feel comfortable. During an action sequence, he even checked on me and made sure I was okay.”
Happy Patel: Khatarnaak Jasoos is described as an offbeat spy comedy, featuring Vir Das, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, and Srushti Tawade, along with special appearances by Aamir Khan and Imran Khan. The trailer, released in December, showcases a chaotic Goa setting.
In the movie, Vir Das plays an agent on a mission to India, while Mithila appears in a bold new avatar as Roopa. Facing various challenges, including confrontations with Mona Singh and a slow-motion aerial fight with Imran Khan, Vir Das navigates the quirky chaos. Aamir Khan also makes a cameo, involving action sequences with a car chase and gunfire.
